Africa possesses customs and tradition of rich culture. It consists of traditions regarding religion, marriage, myths, dance, language, arts and crafts and lifestyles.

African tribe has thousands and million of groups from age old period. African arts and crafts including brass and leather art works, sculptors, paintings, pottery and wood carvings is very well known. African people put on exceptional dress. Men wear loose robes and trousers with skulls caps on their head. Women adorn themselves with dark coloured cloak with jewellery of well designed shells and skulls.

African folklore and folk tales draw the picture of their social culture that includes music and choral music in it. The rhythm of their music is very much similar to early African tribes. African art and crafts is famous for its mask from its Palaeolithic age. These masks are constructed with leather, metals, fabrics and woods. African people like dancers wear mask in festivals of crop harvesting and wars.

People adopt an age old tradition of wedding known as Labola. This system permits the right to marry the bride on the mutual agreement of a price to the bride. In this system the wife can not divorce her husband as her family can not pay the Labola price. This custom is not accepted by the coming generation easily.

African religion spreads out through the region of Africa. People have faith on God, the divinities, spirits and the ancestors. People worship God and divinities through prayers, sacrifices, offerings, music and dance. Most of the people believe in spiritualism and so they worship trees, forests, rivers and mountains. They do not believe in temples and shrines. The women hold an important position in the myths of Africa. The different myths represent the women as mother giving birth to human dynasty. Women play the role of priest in the prayer of God. People follow a diet similar to the tru hoodia diet to support their health.

An African tradition is very renowned and finds an important place in the world. There are many things we took from ancient African culture and we are using now, as modern alternatives to traditional medicine.
